Basic Imformation ~~ Joyce Choy

I am Joyce Choy from class 1B2, age 13. I love playing sports like table tennis, swimming, hockey, golf, etc. I am a positive thinking and a cheerful girl most of the time, and this is also the reason why my name’s Joyce. My strength is that I am interested in almost everything and I love helping others. I like reading English books which have no pictures in them, with only words. Which many of my classmates find no interest in. And if I really do like that story, I could read it a million times without feeling bored. But, I am always very careless when doing my maths, I am already training myself almost everyday but it still doesn’t improve, so I am sometimes feeling quite miserable especially when I am thinking about this problem.

As I said, I love reading. Especially English fictions. My favorite series of books is ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympian’. I have already finished reading them and am looking forward to the book shopping day during the trip. I plan to save up every penny that I won’t need to use in the first two weeks in order to have enough money on that important day for me. I hope to buy some more English books as I have already finished reading the English fictions that I have at home. And the most important of all, is to buy the next sequel of Percy Jackson: ‘The Heroes of Olympus: The Lost Hero’.

 I love traveling a lot too. My parents often took me to trips during vacations. I had been to some places in Asia like Japan, Shanghai, Taiwan, Singapore, Bintan, Malaysia and Guangzhou. But this coming trip will be the first time for me to go to the UK, I am really excited about it! But I am also worried that whether I can manage myself well, as this is the first time for me to leave Hong Kong without my parents’ accompany. Hope everything will be fine!

In this summer programme, I wish to improve my English language skills, especially my spoken language and writing skills. Further more, I wish to know more about the culture of England. I also want to meet new friends, from other classes and those from UK, I am looking forward to this trip!
